What is Frugalicious?

Frugalicious. It’s a new lifestyle. It’s what happens when fabulous people find themselves in less-than-fabulous financial circumstances. All that disposable income has become a little less disposable and a little more hoardable.

According to the Urban Dictionary, the term “frugalicious” is defined as being frugal and fabulous at the same time. It describes someone who looks for a deal instead of just spending recklessly.

I found myself living the frugalicious life when my husband and I were both laid off within two months of each other. And despite searching assiduously for new jobs, we haven’t found anything yet. So, we’re using our creativity and our wits to get ahead. We’re creating our own opportunities.

But despite a temporary crimp in our cash flow, we’re not going to hole up in our apartment, eating nothing but ramen and beans. No, we are still going to live our lives to the fullest. That means ferreting out the very best deals and determining when it’s worth it to spend, and when it’s better to save.

Stay tuned for tips and tricks from me…Ms. Frugalicious!
